| OOC: Since this is still under construction I can move this post if need be. X3
Location: Desert of Chasms
Being a nocturnal animal didn't mean he couldn't enjoy the dawn, especially with the silence and cool air evaporating the morning dew from his hide. As far as he was concerned being slightly wet was like being back home for him and the feeling of sparse shrubs and grass against his soft belly was a refreshing change from the constant try air. This patch of vegetation was a nice find in the sandy, itchy place and Convoy had every intention of setting up shop right here. Hopefully, with some luck, he wouldn't have to fight with another local vendor for this spot; it was prime location from business after all.
Stretching out back plates Convoy uncurled his black body and grabbed the odd pack that attached to the length of his body and moved away the tarp covering it. While the small sprinkle had caught him off guard Convoy had already put up a shield for the sand that was sure to get in his bags and in-between sowed on seems. Underneath the tarp was a large square drawer that held packets of medicine, small barring for fixing machinery, a few time keepers (clocks) and sowing supplies. All of this rested atop a bag that held hand made clothing from Patience Valley and the Fran Islands. To the side of the drawer was a stick holding a few necklaces Convoy had either made or bought himself to resell.
With everything in one place setting up shop was a simple affair and with a few hours before the others in town woke up his pace was sedated and almost lethargic. Realizing he still had his backpack on Convoy took it off and opened the biggest compartment looking for a snack. Unlike his pack that attacked to the length of his body, this one was cylindrical and brightly colored were are the pack was a square and hued a mulch green. On the side of his backpack was another square attachment that housed his money as well as some extra wires for his staff and he would have to dig in there next for a knife he had hurriedly shoved inside.
Grabbing his prize from within, next fishing out the knife, he cut himself a few slices of cucumber to eat. Unfortunately the sand got in his way a few times and when he dropped one in the vile substance he cursed and dusted it off as best he could.
That done, Convoy stabbed his Star Staff into the sand next to him and took out a slice of cucumber to munch on relishing in the moisture trapped within.

| OOC: I'm gonna post cos i really want to RP as Dax. But If peanut wants to delete go ahead.
IC:
Dax sighed, she disliked the desert, but traders in these exotic countries had rare spices she couldn't find anywhere else. She stepped out of the dark in and winced in the sun light. She heard a swooshing sound behind her and the sun was suddenly blocked from her eyes by a parrasol that matched her own colouring. Prometheus bowed his head to her, she always felt much safer with the giant Scarabin with her, he stood a good 5' taller than the chubby pillar, and the mean look on his face often scared even the most foolish of bandits away, he was also great for haggling, a growl from him made traders nervous. She had never actually used him the pressure a trader into selling to her, she would always pay a fair price.
They continued to walk towards the market place, sharing one of Dax's sweet treats, a sweet rice sticky rice ball made with honey and cinnamon, it was messy and sticky and both of them ended up with rice stuck to their face. Dax sucked her fingers clean as they entered the market place, she then wiped them on her loincloth. She reared up on tip toes on her hind legs and brushed any rice from Prometheus' face, he groaned trying to shoo her away. Like a fussy mother she simply shushed him and finished washing his face, she was like that with everyone, like a young mother hen, despite it's annoyance no-one ever dared to tell her, she could be a mean girl when she wanted to be. Even though she was smaller than Prometheus, if she wanted she could easily knock the Scarabin off his feet with one good shove, though she had never done it to him, he had watched her put a rude spider in his place.
Something sparkled in the sunlight and caught the Pillar's eyes, she licked her lips, moistening them. She hurried over to the stall, She peered at the Myrian behind the stall before smiling widely and leaning forward to take a look at the necklaces that where neatly on display. "Oh Prmmy, we should get one of Cookie and your sister!" Prometheus seemed to be trying to smile, and leant forward to take a look, being careful to make sure that the parasol kept Miss Dax in the shade.

| The tall, slender figure weaved through the crowd earning a few admiring glances as she passed by. A large jar of water balanced perfectly on her head and a bag full of seeds slung over her shoulder. A tame brown and burgundy sari with a white embroidered edge wrapped around her. The tan dress she wore underneath was a tied halter at the back and the back opened up until the low of her back. She wore a light matching burgundy head covering with the same white embroidery along the edging. It was slightly see through so you could see her long flaxen hair trail down her back in a braid to her bottom. She wore fingerless brown gloves on all four of her hands. The clinking of her silver anklets brought any passerby's attention to her long legs and thin feet. The only other jewelry she wore was a small dark red nose ring. Some seemed to move aside for her as she moved through the market. It was still not too crowded. She was getting the water for their thirsty flowers and herbs. Batul and Kashi were fortunate to run a flower and herbalist specialty shop out here. They owned a three story building right on the edge of the market and had turned the bottom floor into a shop, the second into their living space and the third they made into a greenhouse. In town they were one of the few shops in town that grew right on base. In this arid land it was difficult. Batul ran usually several times a day to the well. This morning was one of those trips. She yawned, still quite sleepy and rubbed her two of her eyes. The jar balanced perfectly without her hands. Batul stopped short to view what shops were already set for the day. She yawned again, this time covering her mouth and rubbed her knuckles against her cheeks, massaging them as if willing herself to revive. As she yawned a few frightened bugs stepped to the side as they caught a glimpse of that spider's teeth. Her eyes rolled over a few shops of interest. The manure wagon wasn't parked yet but there was the odd Food vendor. She waltzed over to the stall and picked up a few pomegranates, her favourite fruit, and some moldy bread for Kashi. She smelled the ripened loaf and smiled. It was just far enough along. Kashi would love it. She began to haggle with the man naming the price far lower than she thought was fair. She'd lived in this particular town only three years but she had lived in this desert land for over twenty years. She had the same accent, way of walking and yelling as any local. The desert of Chasms was home. So they went through the gestures; him calling her crazy and waving his hands about violently yelling at her and her pointing at him with a long claw-like finger then at the bread and shaking it in his face, telling him how bad his merchandise was. There was yelling back and forth and hands everywhere. Then there was silence as they glared at each other for a solid minute...only to be broken by mutual loud, boisterous laughter. Yes, this is what she needed first thing in the morning. "Alright...alrighty I give you good price Butal iiieh?" she chuckled and placed her fruit and bread in her bag, "Ieehya!" she exclaimed, "Always Ala Al-Din! You give good good price we agree ta? Come by aftah an I give you good good price on dat juice yee wife been askin about. I jes had all da ingredients grown fresh dis week." He clapped in an upwards gesture three times. It was always easy to spot a local street runner compared to the upper class of this city. "Ahhh bless ya Batul yee makin' me very happy." the old cricket had a gleam in his eye, "Ieeyah. (a local word for agreement) Always. You are a good friend. See ya latah!" she waved and was going to held back to the shop like usual when something caught that spider's eye. Perhaps it was the glitter of the morning sun on the necklaces hanging on those hooks or maybe it was the stranger at the booth himself but either way she headed towards the stall and her eyes caught the many treasures. Foreign fashion, jewelry, medicine packets and sowing supplies....she wasn't sure where to start but the necklaces were already being looked at so she rummaged through the bag of clothes. Her finger brushing against the fine handmade fabric...she was captivated and asked in a breathy but spice-rich, accented voice, "Da? Where did these clothes come from?" she asked the vendor. | |

| OOC: YAY!!! People responded! XD In this post I'm replying to both Morge and Vemerial.
Convoy had just finished chewing the last piece of cucumber when a raspberry red pillar with white markings came up to his small stall trailing a large fellow behind her. In one hand was a sticky confection held together by a sweet substance that the Myrian guessed was honey. Turning away from them for a second Convoy looked at all the other sellers appearing like ... like bugs out of the woodwork. Many different places were opened up along the strip holding some foods he had never seen before. Fruits and nuts that didn't look like they would live in the Chasm were actually home grown from the looks of it, their tops recently severed from the original plant; still light green.
"Oh Prmmy, we should get one of Cookie and your sister!"
Oh. they were looking at the neckless staff.
The flashiest and most expensive of the lot was not made by him but was actually found. Simply laying by the side of the road covered in mud mixed with dust only a part of it had peeked out of the mulch he had been shifting thought that day. The main part of the neckless were long pieces of (what looked like) lapislazuli held together by a bit of tanned hide. It was polished and strung on the top of the wood pole to shine brightly.
Pushed against the lapis lazuli necklace was a smaller piece made by Convoy himself. It was a small fragment of Dragon's Eye. It was a deep blood red color with a dark brown line running thought it and had the line running horizontally instead of vertically. The brown line done the center made it look like the gem was a small blood orange morning horizon.
Two more necklaces were hidden behind the others. One was a small black chain with a tether tied to it. Three small cylinders of green periwinkle stone was jutting out from it with a pearl at the end and the simplest of them all was a large white quarts crystal secured right through and held a small metal barring at the end.
Just as Convoy was going to speak another figure had appeared on the Pillar's other side, the shadow she cast and silent walking made part of his segments lock up. The last experience he'd had with a spider was not a pleasant one and he still sported the healing jagged edged scars on his underbelly as a reminder. However, his anxiety was lessened when he spotted the bag of fruits and bread in her possession. Seeing those were the only thing keeping him from freaking out a bit. This interesting spider was shifting thought the clothes he had acquired and seemed very interested in them.
"Da? Where did these clothes come from?" the she-spider said with a heavy accent that he recognized slightly.
Ah, she had ahold of the sash that covered the chest and then wrapped around the waist. The cloth itself was a deep, rich pacific blue with small gold thread embroidery and a line of pail yellow at the bottom. On the side of the shoulder was a stripe going down that ended in a flower made of the same pail yellow cloth. Also, one edge of the cloth had three coins attacked to it inscribed with a letter on each spelling out S.U.N.
"That particular piece came from the Fran's Islands." Convoy tried to keep his voice as cordial as possible.
The spider lady had not made a move and he was beginning to feel stupid for the anxiety. But it was hard to keep the "survival" traveling instincts apart from the more day to day living pleasantries.

| Dax felt the atmosphere change, she glanced at Convoy as he stiffened and felt Prometheus go rigged behind her, she frowned, she had no problems with spiders as long as they weren't violent. But ever since Prometheus' twin sister was brutally scared and their friend was abducted and torture, among other things, he's been a tad agressive around them. She leant back against the gigantic beetle, the intimate action caught the Scarabin of guard, even causing him to blush slightly, she stayed close to him in a teasing manner to keep his attention off the spider.
Dax smiled at the spider and bowed her head politely, she was probably one of the few creatures on Meedus that would not instantly freeze at the sight of an Arachin. She leant over an picked out a garment and held it up for a moment, looking at the other female. Dax smiled widely. "I think this would suit you perfectly." She smiled and lay it back down before looking back at the neclaces, she hooked the dragons eye and smiled wildly picking up the periwinkle necklace and turned to the Milipede.
"What would you like for these two, my many legged friend."

| Batul's lower eyes fixed on the beetle as he stared at her with such aggression...it excited her...Her two large eyes still remained on the vendor. The moment he laid eyes on her she saw his segments tighten. Both males were edgy with her very presence...that made her smile. The large jar on her head didn't even teeter as she turned to the beetle. She smirked at first which grew into a smile. Her fangs gleamed, "Thank ya. You flattah me but din't yee girl teach ya i'twas rude ta stare at another gurl though?" she laughed aloud. It was a hair raising laughter that both was frightening and intriguing. Well practiced and well placed. She smelled like earth, flowers and spice. Her eyes settled on him and those orbs were aflame of red and orange swirling into each other analyzing this beetle as they climbed from his feet to his eyes and her gaze met his. "He a lovely catch iiieh?" she giggled as she asked the lovely red pillar. Her eyes softened on the female and she turned back to look at the fine cloth she had picked out. Her thumb rubbed gently against the fine fabric tracing in it's design as she imagined it draped along her slender figure. She closed her eyes as the pillar went into bargain. She opened her eyes and found she still held the wary millipede's glance. She smiled at him but her eyes as they blazed into his gave him a message loud and clear, 'You should be afraid...' she did not want these bugs thinking for a moment spiders were not to be feared. Just because she personally made no movement to harm them didn't mean others wouldn't. She allowed them to haggle over her as Batul returned her attention to the wares now admiring the sowing supplies and medicine. She lifted the packet to her nose to figure what sorts of medicines he sold. | |

| Dax blushed at the remark about Prometheus, though one would not be eble to tell against her crimson flesh. She laughed nervously. "Me and him?" She lowere dher eyes slightly as if thinking about it and then laughed again. "No we're just friends, he's simply here to make sure I'm safe, tis dangerous for lil ol' me to go traveling on my own." She rubbed several of her leg against her soft sides. "I'm all squishy, i have to watch out for a sharp pebble so i don't get hurt." She frowned and elbowed the beetle, obvously quite hard.
The great beast whom been silent actually spoke up, his voice remarkable soft and deep. "Don't," He looked back at the female spider only for a second before looking over at the necklaces Dax was holding, he grunted, he never really understood why women decorated themselves when most where already colourful enough to be pleastant on the eyes. "Can we go get the spices and herb now?" He said again, he was indeed uneasy around the spider, but it was the glare he received from Dax that made him fidget.
She took the Parasol of him. "You may go collect them if you like, I wish to browse the market." Prometheus fidgeted a bit more then simply nodded silently, he wasn't going to pick a fight with her, despite waht she had said about her being delicate, it wasn't all that true. He dropped a small bag into her second set of hands, it jingled as it landed, she quickly tailed it to the belt of her loincloth and hurried him away with a wave of her many limbs. She turned to the spider and began to apologise for the beetle.
"You'll have to excuse him, his twin sister and her friend had a nasty incident with a group of spiders a couple of years ago, ever since both him and his sister have been highly agressive to spiders.." She waved her hand dismissively. "I don't understand it really, the gang that attacked them are...in a better place now." She sighed a little "Make it hard for me though, I have spider friends, and customers."

| When the spider made eye contact with Convoy he bristled up, the segments of his body stretching out and his abdomen puffing out a bit. This made the red velvet color of his joints flare up. She obviously didn't know what else he did for his profession besides sit round waiting for customers to come around. While it would be hard for him to hurt her, she would find a hard time actually getting at him. Although... the spiders from his last trip had been rather clever. With that thought some of his well-earned confidence bussed up a bit. Spinnle would have a field day with this arachnid lady.
To convey his disinterest in her threat Convoy simple grunted, turned away and focused wholly on the raspberry and white colored Pillar.
"So, you're interested in those two necklaces? Good choice." there was a gruff catch in his voice, just a bit strained "That red one you have was made by me and the jade one a friend of mine fashioned together. I'm selling each one at 25 creds or whatever you can trade for them.”
Note for Vermariel: Sowing supplies: Needles made for some type of dark brown striped spine, thread from silk moths interwoven for strength, a few metal thimbles and some yarn for knitting. Medicines: Powered Ginseng Root for a boost in energy, Tiger Balm for stomachaches and headaches, Chamomile tea and wafers for the flu, a bezoar for intestine problems, surgical sowing kit, and some medical gauze raps.
OCC: Sorry this is rather small. Working on profiles at the same time. XD
