Desert Conditions -
Sandstorms are frequent in Redclaw, due to the sea-breezes rolling in from the Sunkissed Cove, and the Sudanta Ocean. One could expect to have as many as four sandstorms a week. The best way to shelter from these sandstorms would be to find either a town, and hide inside the sturdy buildings, or find an oasis and shelter behind the bushes and trees.
The sandstorms are vicious, and will flay skin and muscle from bone. It wouldn't be good to get yourself caught in one. But the sandstorms build up slowly - providing ample time to get under cover. Any local knows the signs of a sandstorm, and if you're lucky enough to have an animal companion with you, you'd better pay attention to them - the animals there are adapted to predicting a natural phenomenon.
Water is scarce, but certain types of cattle or wildlife can lead you to the sparse oasis locations. The best suited animals for finding water would be birds, goats, or camels.
Towns -
Towns are sparse - only four large towns being present - though there is a fifth, smaller town on the curving peninsula.
Andar - the "Bluff" town, resting on the most western side of Redclaw, on the plateau. This town is known for its taverns and brothels. This is the most popular town, though it isn't the largest. The only way to get to it is by a long, sturdy bridge from Kelt'n.
Kelt'n - The "Cliff-side" town, nestled in the western edge of the cliff, connected to Andar by a bridge. This is the largest town, though people only use it to pass to Andar. This is the town that has the most trade and plant life. The people of this town don't like the hustle and bustle very much, and usher the visitors off as quickly as they can. They are not hostile, but they don't care to sit and chat.
Jun'v - the most secluded town of fishers who spend idle time, sheltered from most of the desert, and therefore its people. There is a tunnel network on the cliff-face that shelters their town from storms. The tunnels connect to the inside of the canyon that Kelt'n is located in, and one coming out at the base of Andar's plateau.
Yujil - the friendliest town of them all, but very seldom visited. This town is it the most by sandstorms, carried over from the northern peninsula. This town is plentiful in livestock and cattle.
Bantaro'de - the smallest, and most profitable town. Bantaro'de is known for its fishing prowess, due to the calm nature the town has. Though the town is battered by ocean-blown winds, there are hardly sandstorms because of the location.
