First up! The Japanese are awesome simply because they can make a TV show out of ANYTHING and it turns out epic. Take this for example.
*sighs dreamily* Herakarasu o Okabuto is my hero now. XD

Nope! Although it looks like they're hurting each other they actually don't really feel anything at all because of their exoskeleton. They can lift 1000 times their size and never kill when fighting. They just toss each-other around and they actually fight on a branch. XD Once someone has been pushed off they lose. XD

Totally natural no one gets hurt. They do have referees in case bigger beetles do end up getting out of hand with a smaller one. Used to see Beetle Sumo on TV when I lived in Okinawa. X3 Only saw a intervention twice. Once due to a larger beetle getting a good hold on a smaller one and bobbing his head back and forth which started banging the other beetle against the log. XD And the other was when One got his horn stuck in another's armor and they needed to seperate them. XD

Dunno why but that fluffy caterpillar freaked me out more than any ordinary caterpillar would D8 Reminded me of Men In Black or something like that. Though it's cute)
It seems, those flies simply try to find a flat surface to help themselves up. But how did she made them lay on the back?! 0_0
And my two cents: The Ant Sprial of DOOM
- it's in Russian and about certain ant species phenomenon when one after another ants start running in circle for some unknown reason. Soon more and more ants join and create a huge sprial. Circling stops only when all participating ants are dead. - the biggest ant sprial was registered in 1921. It was 120 meters in diametr, each new circle for ants took 2,5 hours and lasted for two days
EDIT: Yay! I've learnt to embed the videos! ^^

Oh? Did you mean the video? I thought that there was something wrong with my post (man, I'm slow XC) Well according to one theory, it's all about ant psychology of following their comrade by scent which gets stronger with every joining ant. And some scientists even suppose that such ant sprials are the source of the circles on the fields, but it's doubtfull.

Do-Gooder- Yeah, I meant the video. XD; Sorry to confuse you. The swarming makes sense, but I have to wonder what prompts the spiraling in the first place... The only things I can think of are the obvious--change in the environment or some chemical triggering the response. But yeah, I have to agree; I don't think even a thousand ants could really do anything to a field like that. XD;;
Panda- Oh god, I remember that commercial. XD I can't remember where I found it, but... D'awh.
