Was going through the park today and saw a yellowjacket attacking the male bee drone. The yellowjacket threw it on the ground and was circling ariund and then quickly flew away as I approached. I picked the poor drone in my hand - it was alive but tired - and wanted to carry it to some safer place and then the yellowjacket came back and tore the bee's head off! Just like that, on the palm on my hand. It was really fast and really unexpected.
And even after that the yellowjacket didn't go away - it freaking advanced on me, still holding on that drone's head!
No, I know they are hunters and all that, but this looked really psychotic. Firtst thing that came to mind was "Le gasp! It's Thorn! o_O"
